Running a media player in the background is a poor substitute to all of this, and I consider it to be below the developers and below the Forza franchise as a whole. The modification of the in-game music, the skipped intro, the indefinite clean looping of a single song, the same track playing from in-world speakers and the cut to a particularly intense part during the results screen contributes some seriously heavy lifting to the general staging of the game.
